Lava Stone

Tourmalinated Quartz
Tourmalinated quartz is a rock crystal with inclusions of black tourmaline (Schorl). The formation of tourmalinated quartz is quite interesting, as it primarily occurs through pegmatitic formation. This means that tourmaline crystals first "grow," which are then encased by rock crystal in a later phase. It is said to have been considered a stone of harmony in ancient China, capable of balancing the opposing forces of Yin and Yang in its owner, thus contributing particularly well to inner harmony and balance.
