ELEPHANT SKIN JASPER
The name jasper is derived from the Greek "iaspis" (meaning: speckled stone) and has its origins in the Orient. Due to the admixture of various foreign materials such as clay or iron oxide, jasper appears in a very wide variety of colors and forms. This gives rise to the numerous synonyms and trade names.
This piece of jewelry is made from the very special elephant skin jasper, which until now has only been found in the Himalayan mountains in India and South Africa.
Hildegard von Bingen said of jasper: Jasper makes a person capable, intelligent and eloquent in speech when worn on the body and warmed.
TOURMALINATED QUARTZ
Tourmalinated quartz is a rock crystal with inclusions of black tourmaline (schorl). The formation of tourmalinated quartz is quite interesting, as it primarily forms through pegmatitic formation. This means that tourmaline crystals "grow" first, which are then encased by rock crystal in a later phase.
It is said to have been considered a stone of harmony in ancient China, capable of bringing the opposing forces of Yin and Yang into balance for its owner, thus contributing particularly well to inner harmony and equilibrium.
